Firecracker 5K and 1M Stroller Derby & Fun Run

The Firecracker 5k is more than just a run.  It’s an event that supports youth development, healhty living, and social responsibility for children, adults, and families in our community.  This year features a new course that many of our Y runners enjoy! There is a 5K run/walk and a 1 mile fun run and stroller derby for parents and kids.  While not required, many will find it in their hearts to find people to sponsor them and raise even more for a great cause.  The 5k is a timed event.  Timing by Rip & Tear Racing.

Stroller Derby/Fun Run: Decorate yourself or your stroller to look
like the 4^th of July and enjoy a 1-mile fun run/stroller derby.  Creativity counts!  Some will win prizes!  Every child will receive a ribbon.

Registration:  Available in person at the Ashtabula County Family YMCA or online.

Fees:                Stroller Derby/Fun Run: $15/person or $45/family

                          Individuals 13 years old or younger: $15

                          Individuals 14 years old and up: $20

                          Families (Household couple and dependent children only): $65

                          All Race Day Registrations are $25 per person regardless of age or category.

Packet Pick-Up: Packet pick up and race day registration will be available from 7:30-8:45 am on race day, July 4, 2013.  All race day registrations will be $25 per person.  Race begins at 9:00am, fun run/stroller derby at 10:00am.

Shirts: All participants will receive a shirt while supplies last.  Only those registered by June 20^th will be guaranteed a shirt.  After that, shirts will be available while supplies last.

Awards: Presented to the top 3 males overall, top 3 females overall, and the top 3 males and females in each age group: 13 & under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and up.

50/50 Drawing: Tickets for the 50/50 drawing will be available at the front desk prior to the event, during the event, and the drawing will be held at the awards ceremony after the race.
